What is a Dimpled Chin treatment?
A dimpled or pebbled chin is often caused by the mentalis muscle, which sits at the front of the chin. This muscle helps move the lower lip and chin, but if it contracts strongly, it can pull on the skin and create a puckered or orange-peel appearance.
Dimpled chin treatment uses a small amount of muscle-relaxing treatment to reduce this overactivity. As the muscle relaxes, the surface of the chin appears smoother while still moving naturally when you speak and smile.
This treatment works on muscle movement rather than changing the size, projection or shape of your chin. If the concern is related to your underlying chin structure, chin filler may be more suitable instead. Sometimes a combination of treatments gives the best result, but we’ll always explain your options without pressuring you into having more than you need.

What causes a dimpled or pebbled chin?
A dimpled chin is often caused by the mentalis muscle contracting underneath the skin. If this muscle is particularly active, it can pull the skin inwards and create a puckered or orange-peel texture.
Chin shape, skin quality and volume can also contribute, so we’ll assess the area rather than assuming muscle movement is the only cause.
Can anti-wrinkle treatment get rid of a dimpled chin?
It can soften dimpling when the concern is caused by an overactive mentalis muscle. As the muscle relaxes, the surface of the chin should look smoother and less puckered.
The result is temporary, and we can’t promise to remove every line or indentation. If the dimpling is visible even when your chin is completely relaxed, another treatment may also need to be considered.
How long does Dimpled Chin treatment last?
Results usually last for around 12 weeks, although this varies from one person to another. Your muscle strength, metabolism and lifestyle can all influence how quickly movement returns.
The effect will gradually soften, so your chin won’t suddenly return to how it looked before treatment.
How quickly will I see my results?
You may begin to notice the chin relaxing within the first few days, but the full result can take approximately two weeks to develop.
Try not to judge the result too early. We’ll normally assess how the area has settled at the two-week point if a review is needed.
Do I need Dimpled Chin treatment or chin filler?
It depends on what you want to change. Anti-wrinkle treatment relaxes the muscle responsible for puckering and dimpling. Chin filler adds structure, shape or projection and may help when the concern is related to the natural proportions of the chin.
Some clients may benefit from both, but many only need one. We’ll explain the difference and recommend the simplest treatment that can realistically achieve your goal.
