Some lines appear because of the expressions we make every day. Smiling, frowning, squinting and raising the brows repeatedly contract the muscles beneath the skin, which can gradually leave lines visible even when your face is relaxed.
Anti-wrinkle treatment temporarily reduces the activity of selected muscles, giving the overlying skin a chance to appear smoother. The aim isn’t to stop expression altogether, but to carefully adjust the movement contributing to the lines you want to soften.
Because everyone’s facial movement is different, where and how treatment is used should be tailored to the individual rather than following the same set pattern for every face.

REAL RESULTS
Which concerns can anti-wrinkle treatments target?
Anti-wrinkle treatments are most commonly used for concerns linked to repeated facial movement. Over time, expressions such as frowning, smiling, squinting and raising the eyebrows can cause lines to become more noticeable, and eventually remain visible even when the face is relaxed.
Not every line or change in facial appearance is caused by muscle movement. Volume loss, skin laxity, dehydration and changes in skin quality can all contribute too. During your consultation at our Leytonstone clinic, we’ll assess what is creating the concern and explain which treatment approach is most appropriate for you.

You don’t need to know exactly which areas you want treated before you arrive. Your appointment begins with a consultation about the changes you’ve noticed, the result you’re hoping for and whether you’re considering one area, the three core areas or a more comprehensive lower-face or full-face approach.
We’ll assess your facial anatomy and movement, looking at how different muscles work together when you smile, frown, raise your brows and relax your face. We’ll also discuss your medical history, previous aesthetic treatments and any questions or concerns you may have.
Anti-wrinkle treatments are subject to consultation and prescription. If treatment is suitable for you, your personalised treatment plan will be explained before carefully selected areas are treated.
You will then receive aftercare guidance and information about what to expect as the areas settle.

SESSIONS

PAIN
We use a very tiny needle. most people report Botox as painless.
Considering anti-wrinkle treatment for the first time can feel a little daunting. You might be worried about looking frozen, losing your natural expression or simply not know which areas — if any — would be right for you.
At Facebox London, we’re a friendly bunch and we want you to feel completely comfortable asking questions. We’ll look at how your face naturally moves, listen to what you’d like to change and explain what we think will give you the best result. If we don’t think an area needs treating, we’ll tell you that too.
Our approach is all about subtle, considered treatment that works with your features rather than changing the way you look.

All of the Facebox team takes a warm, down-to-earth approach and understands that many patients feel nervous before their first injectable appointment. You will be guided through the process in straightforward language, with time to discuss your concerns before making a decision.
Facebox London provides consultations and treatments from its private clinic at 12 Maple Road, Leytonstone, London E11 1NB.
You don’t need to know which treatment or how many areas you need before booking. During your consultation at Facebox London in Leytonstone, we’ll look at how your face moves, the concerns you would like to address and the kind of result you are hoping for. We can then explain whether a single area, the three core areas, a lower-face treatment or a more comprehensive full-face approach may be most appropriate for you.
Botox® is a brand name for a prescription-only medicine containing botulinum toxin. “Anti-wrinkle treatment” or “anti-wrinkle injections” are broader terms commonly used when discussing treatments designed to temporarily reduce muscle movement associated with expression lines. Botulinum toxin treatments require consultation and prescription and are not suitable for everyone. Your suitability will always be assessed before treatment is carried out.
A frozen appearance is one of the most common concerns we hear, but it isn’t the aim of treatment at Facebox London. Anti-wrinkle treatment can be carefully tailored according to your individual muscle movement, facial anatomy and desired result. Our approach is to soften unwanted lines while keeping your face looking expressive and recognisably you.
Anti-wrinkle results are temporary. For many people, the effects last around three to four months, although this can vary depending on the area treated, the strength of the muscles, your individual response and previous treatments. As muscle movement gradually returns, lines may begin to become more noticeable again and you can discuss maintenance treatment if appropriate.
The cost of Botox treatment in London varies depending on the clinic, the areas being treated and the product used. Some clinics price by individual area, while others offer multi-area or full-face options. At Facebox, our prices start at £150 for some single areas, with the full face and lower face packages being the best value (and most popular).
It depends on what is being treated. Botox and dermal fillers are different treatments used for different concerns, so comparing the price directly isn’t always helpful. Also, Botox is actually a brand, so there are other solutions that vary in price.
Anti-wrinkle injections are primarily used to temporarily reduce selected muscle movement, while dermal fillers are generally used to restore or add volume, provide support or enhance facial proportions. The overall cost of either treatment will depend on the areas being treated and the individual treatment plan.
Rather than choosing between anti-wrinkle and filler based on price, we’ll recommend the option most suited to what is actually causing your concern.
Results are not immediate. You may begin to notice a change within the first few days following treatment, with the full effect generally becoming apparent at around two weeks. Your individual response can vary, which is why we’ll explain what to expect following your appointment.
No. As the effects of Botox or other anti-wrinkle options (like those we use at Facebox) gradually wear off, normal muscle movement returns and expression lines may begin to become visible again. Your face does not suddenly age or become older-looking because you stop treatment. It will simply continue to change naturally over time. Essentially the ageing will have just paused for the time that you were getting botox, as the muscles were no longer contributing as much ageing.
Stopping does not cause your skin to suddenly sag. As the effects of botulinum toxin wear off, the treated muscles gradually return to their usual activity and your natural facial movement returns. Normal changes associated with ageing, such as changes in skin elasticity, volume and facial structure, will continue over time whether or not you choose to have further treatment. If your concern is primarily skin laxity rather than muscle movement, we can discuss whether a different treatment approach may be more appropriate.
Most clients find anti-wrinkle injections very manageable. Treatment is carried out using a very fine needle and usually involves only brief pinching or stinging sensations at the injection points. Appointments are generally quick, and we’ll explain what is happening throughout so you know what to expect.
Downtime is usually minimal. You may notice temporary redness, small raised bumps or mild tenderness around the injection sites immediately afterwards, and occasional bruising can occur. We’ll provide aftercare guidance following your appointment so you know what to expect and what precautions to take.
Anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers work in different ways. Anti-wrinkle injections are used to temporarily reduce selected muscle movement, making them particularly relevant to lines caused by repeated facial expression. Dermal fillers are generally used to restore or add volume, provide structural support or enhance the shape and proportions of selected facial features. Some clients may benefit from one approach, while others may be better suited to a combination of treatments.
Botox® results, just like the product we offer at Facebox, are temporary, so you do not need to continue treatment once you start. For many people, the effects of botulinum toxin last around three to four months, although this varies depending on the area treated, muscle strength and how your body responds.
If you like the result, you can choose to have maintenance treatment as movement gradually returns. There is no fixed schedule that everyone needs to follow, and we’ll advise you on an appropriate treatment plan based on your individual response.
No. There isn’t a particular age at which you are “too late” to consider Botox or other anti-wrinkle treatments. Many people first consider treatment in their 30s, 40s, 50s or later. What matters more than your age is the type of lines you have, how your facial muscles move and what you would like to improve. During your consultation, we can assess whether reducing muscle movement is likely to help or whether another treatment may be more appropriate for your concern.
There is no “best” age to start. Treatment should be based on your individual concerns rather than reaching a particular birthday. Some people develop noticeable expression lines relatively early, while others may not consider anti-wrinkle treatment until much later. If you’re unsure whether treatment is appropriate, a consultation allows us to assess your facial movement and explain your options without any obligation to go ahead.
